Adding Value to the Process.......Protecting the Environment

Gas chromatographs and hydrocarbon analyzers can be key in adding value to the ethanol production process and protecting the environment from Volatile Organic Compound (VOC)emissions created during the process.

Ethanol Production

Ethanol production involves multiple steps. The process starts with a feedstock that is transformed into ethanol or ethyl alcohol throughout a fermentation and distillation process.

Ethanol Distillation

A by product of the distillation process is CO2.  During the distillation process, the CO2 produced can have value added applications.  These applications include resale to specialty gas suppliers, carbonated beverage manufacturers, dry ice manufacturers and green house suppliers for crop development.  The Series 9100 Gas Chromatograph is designed to monitor the purity of CO2 by detecting trace impurities.

Grain Drying

During the grain drying process VOC's can be created, some of which are considered toxic or hazardous at certain levels.  The Series 9000 Total Hydrocarbon Analyzer family in conjunction with an emission control system provides an effective solution for real time monitoring of hydrocarbons and methane emissions.
